Club chair
Martha Sturdy, Vancouver, 2007

The illuminated resin club chair is a unique, functional work of art, available with custom napa leather cushions.

"When I first began to work with cedar and Douglas fir, I created clean, simple silhouettes that stood on their own — no joinery, knobs, or embellishments. To my surprise, people were not only drawn to these pieces for the aesthetic quality but for the experience it afforded them. A woman once sat on this cedar bench and ran her hand along the top. She was quiet for a moment and then remarked that the bench reminded her of the time spent with her grandfather when she was a little girl. It was at that moment that I realized the power of solid wood."
